With a total area of 12,586 hectares the Natural Reserve of Desertas Islands includes all islands and islets (Ilhéu Chão, Deserta Grande, Bugio and adjacent islets) and all adjacent marine area. Being designated Nature Reserve for nearly 26 years, they are now internationally known for the conservation efforts of the endangered Monk Seal.
Today this lost pearl can be visited by sea. The only island that can be visited is Deserta Grande, where it is possible to visit the center to the recovery of the Monk Seal and to do a small tour, where cultural, morphological and fauna and local endemic flora aspects are displayed.
On a trip with the total time of 7 hours, you will sail in the comfort of one of our catamarans along the south coast of Madeira Island, disembarking in clear waters, a beach from volcanic origin, almost virgin to human impact.
Full Day: 09h00 to 18h00
