As hikers progress along the trail, they will come across several impressive tunnels and bridges that were built to divert water and provide access to the levada. These structures are an impressive feat of engineering and add to the charm of the walk.
The trail is relatively easy to walk, and visitors can take their time to admire the various plants and flowers along the way. Birdwatchers may also spot some of the local bird species, such as the Madeiran Firecrest or the Canary.
As the hike nears its end, hikers will come across a beautiful waterfall known as Ribeiro Bonito Waterfall. The waterfall is a stunning sight, and visitors can take a refreshing dip in the natural pool at the base of the waterfall.
